Welcome to Paris

Who does not dream to visit Paris? Its street sights and side-cafés, its bustling night life, its monuments, its museums, its boat drives on the scenic Seine, not to mention also its … shopping! Paris has something for all people and all tastes.

After the Friday evening social event, which takes place a stone’s throw away from the Arc de Triomphe on the Place de l’Etoile and commemorates Napoleon’s victories, why not take a stroll down the Champs-Elysées, the most beautiful avenue in the world, leading up to the obelisk of Louxor which adorns the Place de la Concorde, formerly Place de la Révolution where Louis XVI was beheaded.  The Eiffel tower may be seen from UNESCO’s seventh floor where lunch is being served during the conference, and you should definitely plan to take a ride up its elevators, and see Paris from its bird’s eye view. Also within walking distance is the Invalides: under its gilded dome, Napoleon is buried.

Many of the most well-known Parisian monuments are also aligned along the Seine, and taking a boat ride in its famed “bateaux-mouches” is a relaxed way of sightseeing while gliding on the river.  In December, before Christmas, the city is adorned with its Christmas illuminations which confirm its reputation as the “City of Light”, and most shops are open late and on Sunday – a boon for a quick shopping spree before heading back home!
